Well, I tackled the jacket today. In six hours I drafted a pattern and sewed the jacket.
I had to forego the more elaborate version I wanted to do because of the time constraint, but I am reasonably happy with the outcome. Most importantly my son loves it and is eager for me to be finished. Tomorrow I will sew the britches, attach the vest (or waistcoat) fronts to the jacket, and decide if I have time to sew a full shirt or just cuffs and a jabot. After all, we still have to practice his speech!
