What I Wore 10/23/14

What I Wore 10.23.14

I have started following a few fashion blogs in an effort to streamline my sewing plans for fall/winter, and I have quickly become addicted! My favorite is Cyndi Spivey’s blog Walking In Grace and Beauty, and Alison Lumbatis at Get Your Pretty On and Jo-lynne Shane. They are all over 40 fashion bloggers…hmmm what would a spring chick like me be reading Over 40 bloggers for?!?! 😉

I was also inspired to check out these fashion blogs for another, more embarrassing reason! I wore a pair of riding boots, leggings, white buttondown and leopard scarf to work last week, and I received so many comments about being “dressed up” and “what’s the occasion” that I realized I had gotten really lax with my attire over the last few months, just throwing on the first thing I came to in the morning.

Any of you who know me know that I have a slight obsession with clothing and shoes, and my closet reflects that. I have many classic pieces. I decided that it was really a shame that I was not wearing what I own in well thought-out, put-together ways. Posting these outfits is a way of keeping me “on my toes” so to speak. I am really only spending a few minutes each night choosing items for the next day, but I can already see that my look is more cohesive, and taking the time to completely accessorize with jewelry, scarves, layering, etc has had the added benefit of a confidence boost.

I highly recommend that if you are in the same slump I have been in that you peruse some of these fashion blogs and get some new ideas for your own ensembles. It hasn’t cost me a penny (so far!) and yet I feel like I have a new wardrobe.
